The Omega co-ed team played a double-header on Friday night.  We began one player short, with two men and three women, plus Manny in goal; by playing smart soccer we scored first and managed to get to half-time tied at one. At the half we were joined by late arrivals, bringing us up to a roster of four women and six men, with a new goalie. Quickly adjusting to a nice pattern of substitutions, we took the score to 2-1. Playing with a sweeper and a defensive mid-fielder tasked with attacking the ball as it came through mid-field, we held tight, only giving up a goal when we were caught too far forward.  Final score 3-2.

In the second game we benefited from the arrival of two additional players.  With six men, six women, and a goalie, we were able to organize our shift-changes like clockwork and kept control of mid-field throughout the game.  We are still getting familiar with co-ed rules and scored four goals that were disallowed because the ball was not "live" or because it crossed the line too high from a male player.  But we persisted after going 0-2 down, going into the third period at 2-2 on a tying goal by Kaitlyn and concluding the game with a comfortable two-goal lead (both fourth period goals scored by Kelley). Final score 4-2.

Next game is on Friday, Sept 26 at  7:30.
