On Thursday night the Omega Men's team broke a 3-3 tie with 18 seconds on the clock. We were the better team but a couple of lapses in concentration on our part made it more of a struggle than it should have been.

Chuck and Dan conspired to create the first goal, using expert chest-control and a back-heel to put the ball over the line.  Cory, a new player, gave us a second goal in the second, but we then let the other team smell blood by giving up a point when Steve challenged an attacker with the ball and fell, leaving an open lane to the goal.  Early in the third the score was tied at 2-2; we went ahead again on a goal by Fabian, only to allow a tied score of 3-3 when the defence left a player wide open left of the goalie box.  As the fourth period went on it looked like we'd finish disappointed, all square.

In the end, though, we were happy with the 4-3 win after Fabian's free-kick to the right of the box put the ball at Pete's feet for a calm tap-in.

Next game is either at 6:30 on Tuesday or 5:30 on Thursday, depending on our final position in the standings.
